“Its not a team I wanted to join, but having joined it I can geuinely say that those suffering with MND are some of the most positive and Inspirational people I have met” - Dean Fox

Introduction:

My Name is Dean Fox, I was diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) on the 18th August 2023.

What is MND?

MND is a rapidly progressing, life limitin, fatal disease for which there is currently no cure. It affects the Motor Neurons within the cells of the nerves of the brain and spinal cord, these motor neuons are responsible for communicating with the muscles around the body. Ultimately as the motor neurons die in the cells they stop communicating and this means the muscles begin to waste and stiffen.

This causes those suffering to become trapped in a failing body which affects their ability to walk, talk and eventually breathe.
